Hey Aly! You and John did such an amazing job creating this website! I am psyched about your upcoming adventure:-) Speaking of odd things, I have so many of them that I accumulated without knowing over the years. Mainly because I am one of the few Japanese people who are unfortunately (?) stuck in Hattiesburg and have received so much *stuff* from old friends who happened to be lucky enough to leave this town, including you two! LOL We still use your old pots and pans, dishes, etc and so on! To name a few, our microwave was donated by our loving friend Emi san, some of the books on the bookshelf used to belong to Tae san, and I was recently given a few more items by Aya san as well! Ryuhei ended up leaving us a baseball bat, which we never use but still own it anyway. But the bat is put up right next to the door for a security reason. LOL I keep anything give to me by my beloved friends and I am unable to get rid of them. I feel that it would be bad karma since all those items remind me of good old memories of those who used to be here!

Hey, Aly! I really enjoyed your journal! I added this blog to my favorite already!
Well, I just moved into a new place with my husband a few weeks ago, and tried to downsizing as well. I also felt the same way as you did... Why do I keep all these useless things?! Then we made a rule which we called "one year rule". It is simple! If the thing has never been used last one year, it should be throw away! Actually, it worked really well! So try this rule next time!!!
