Taking the Leap

Now looking at it I should of named this piece “Leap” instead of “Jump”. When I was drawing it last week it felt more like we were jumping off a cliff without a parachute on, just hoping the water would be deep enough! But now I am feeling more relaxed and ready for whatever the next chapter may bring us. Plus as you can see from my doodle up there, there is a parachute, albiet loose and fantastical though it may be!

I think we drove ourselves to the ground last week because I don’t think we were awake more than three hours yesterday. It was the week of goodbyes and trying to tie up those stubborn loose ends. It never fails that no matter how soon you start getting ready the last few weeks somehow always throws a curve ball at you! But with only two more days of work left for me and three for John the last day in Lincoln, Nebraska, is drawing near. We might have been nervous but to be honest, we have been too busy to even sit down and think about what we are doing. Which could be the best thing! Right now it’s about the details. How to squeeze one last Dr.’s visit in before our insurance runs out, whether it will be warm enough to camp out during our cross-country drive to save some money, change our addresses, where is my e-bay package already?? est est! I have this feeling that about half way through our 1000mile drive it will dawn on me that I left something sitting in our apartment.
